Is it just me or is the internet starting to taste a little dry? Once upon-a-time logging onto the WWW was an exciting process that was bound to bring new and unknown things right up to our faces in our very own homes but this is no longer the case. The volume of content available to us is starting working against what made the interweb so attractive in the first place. Our daily routines have been adjusted to factor in checking our emails as soon as our eyes open, changing our facebook statues after we get out of the shower, and twitter our way throughout the day; and that’s is but at what cost? When was the last time you visited a website outside your top twenty, top ten, top five? Now this wouldn’t usually be a problem because if everyone’s top twenty were different then the odds would be that a much of the internet would be explored, this however is not the case. We can now observe the mainstream internet- consisting of the likes of Ninemsn, Yahoo, Youtube, and of course Google. The problem is that even though these websites aggregate content from many trillions of sources they still do not even make up a decent portion of what the internet is today. But what people view in their spare time is not of concern to us, what is a concern to us is what bloggers view in their search for content to post. On this front we are beginning to see bloggers reposting other bloggers posts that they reposted from another bloggers blog which they.. you get the idea. This is causing a bit of a mess on the internet- with much content being posted but a large proportion of it being unoriginal.
That is why I am proud to present to you the FRESH INTERNET INCENTIVE, which is a relentless search through the depths of the internet for fresh content you will not find on any other blog anywhere, full stop. I will be going on a journey through time and space (Mighty Boosh) looking for only the freshest content available on the internet and brining it right here to you on SCHIFFOLOGY @ THE VINE.com.au. Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m back.
