Found at Brandon Day's
Selectism blog, is this teaser about Generic Man for Women, a new line of men's shoes... umm, for women.
I've long been a fan of Generic Man's shoes for men, and strongly endorse these feminine takes on their classic lines. They also sound particularly enticing in Days words, so I'll let him explain:
"First, we developed our TGM shapes to have more of a feminine fit while still retaining a masculine feel. These are actual men’s shoes for women, made at a 100 year old men’s factory in Portugal with all Italian materials. The soles are hand-crafted leather soles created by craftsmen that have been making exquisite leather soles for mens shoes for generations."
I also strongly endorse the cheaper line of men's casual shoes that Generic Man is producing, known as Generic Surplus and available at Urban Outfitters.
I also present evidence to support my claim at the beginning of this year that we would be seeing a turn to anti-design. This article, which I also found from perusing Selectism's blogs, is right on the money, and expresses itself far better than I could ever hope to do.
