Now that True Blood has finished for the year and there is nothing left to live for, I have been scouring the interwebs for an acceptable replacement.
While having a peep at Old Faithful, the official HBO website, I came across "Bored To Death" which can only be described as every female be-spectacled hipster's wet dream. Jason Schwartzmann stars an unofficial Private Investigator, helping Gotham's many neurotics, in a not TV - it's HBO show with Ted Danson and Zach Galifinakis thrown in for shits and giggles.
From what I've seen of the trailer, the show uses the Big Apple to magnifico effect and the soundtrack will probably feature some shoe-gazing Brooklyn indie waffle. It'll be interesting to see how both Schwartzmann and Galifinakis tackle soft-boiled noir and whether Ted Danson can out Ted Danson himself.
Here's hoping it works, otherwise I'll have to venture out into the summer sunshine.
