So, Rosie is going off the air. That is Triple J’s Rosie Beaton for those not in the know. After ten years on super request she is hanging up her mic and I for one will miss her.

I hope to dear god that Triple J didn’t give her the boot or tell her politely to move on. I hope she left of her own accord. I hope that the ageist society we seem to live in hasn't had its way with her. I hope she just wants to do something else.

It seems the J's gets younger and younger and I suppose someone in their 30's should be listening to AM, but I love super request. I write a lot to it and for the last 10 years I have loved all that Rosie has had to offer the world of radio.

I suppose the station might want someone more in the demographics age group. I am unsure of who the replacement is yet, but I hope that they get someone as good as she was. Things change I suppose, but I really liked things the way they were. She had an infectious personality and truly made me smile when I listened to her and she was a damn professional announcer. The best in the business I would have to say.

So, to the next host. Realise the shoes you fill.
