***Images above NOT SAFE FOR (MOST) WORKPLACES***

It's Monday, which is not necessarily amazing news, so to get your week off to the right start I thought together we could celebrate boobs! After all, Facebook has been telling me it’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so what better way to celebrate awareness, education and empowerment, than with 3D breasts?

Trawling through the Internet I came across a book called 3-DD, a photographic project that celebrates uniquely, the classic form of a naked woman with an obvious focus on honouring breasts… in three wonderful dimensions.

I hope it's not too much of a generalisation to assume we all love breasts. After reading the concept tab on the website it's hard to think any other way:

"The temptation was to write a long piece justifying our creation of 3DD. We could have thrown in some academic analysis on the prominent role of the nude in the history of art and elaborate on the ways that 3DD advances that canon. We might have pointed out that the beautiful images of natural breasts in all shapes and sizes are a wonderful celebration of real women in all their glory. Or we could have revealed in the universal truth that looking and talking about boobs is just a lot of fun.

But that would be to complicate something that can be said in four words.

Boobs in 3-D

Enjoy."

I also found a short interview on FABRIC by Ariella Gogol with the New York-based photographer Henry Hargreaves.

These were two questions of which I liked the answers.

Is everyone featured, er, natural? Are you anti-plastic surgery?
Yes. Despite what some people might think, everyone is natural. Big or small, pert or busty, it is what they were given, and I think all the more interesting for it.

Who is your dream reader?
I get the biggest kick when a girl says ‘this is really cool.’ I feel that boobs so often get downgraded to just something that men ogle over, and what I wanted was to show girls who are proud of their bodies. So when a girl reads it and understands that, it gives me the most satisfaction. Lots of people initially think it is something really naughty or out there, and then they see the book and respond to the photography, and suddenly just relax and enjoy it.

It’s seems like a pretty fun little project, with the right kind of message behind it. So if you’ve got boobs, give ‘em a mighty shout-out at some point today! However that may be. And, if you’d like to buy the book you can do so here.

Breast tip of the week: GET FITTED – it’s actually as good a service as RACV (when you realise they’ll tow your car and give you a cab to the nearest hotel) and your boobs will thank you.
