Misa from Schwipe  has created a tee for tonight’s launch of ‘THE ART OF THE BICYCLE’ produced on occasion for the Bicycle Film Festival Art Show (brought to you by TheVine incidentally).

The beauty of this tee lies in the background of the image as opposed to the design. The inside tag explains the story.

“Bicycle Day is April 19, commemorating April 19, 1943, the day Dr. Albert Hofmann discovered LSD.” Once Hofmann had taken the trip, he actually thought he’d become ill. So, as it states, he “cycled home from his lab”.

The story continues that once the journey had begun everything became distorted. Whilst Hofmann felt he had the sensation of being stationary, he was in fact travelling on his bike.

The original blotter art featured on the tee to be released tonight, and created by an anonymous artist, has been reproduced in tribute of Hofmann’s ride. The tees will be available in very limited numbers, so get on yer bike if you want to wear one of these around town. Misa says, “Only 50 have been produced.”

Take a trip to DON’T COME GALLERY after 6pm tonight and see what other creative endeavours have also been inspired by the simple bicycle.

T-il next time,

Eddie
