Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have arrived in Melbourne with daughter Suri in tow, and no one is more excited than The Herald Sun.

Since the famous couple hit Essendon airport late last month, the newspaper has been following their every move. Let's take a look, shall we?

First, there was a photo gallery (cleverly titled "Cruise into Melbourne" ... do you see what they did there?) documenting their arrival into our fair city. And my lord, it's so fascinating your mind may melt.

Highlights include:

These are cars (apparently with the Cruise family inside) leaving the airport for the city. Do you think the guy in the fluro vest has sent this picture 'round to his family and friends? Hope so.

The shot above is of Tom, Katie and Suri in the back of the car on the way to Crown Towers. I like to think that Suri is demanding they turn into the McDonald's drive-thru, stat. Girl has a hankering for a McFlurry.

According to the Herald Sun's caption, that is Tom Cruise you can see in the car. They're taking that from a foppish fringe and a pair of sunglasses. Could just as easily be Richard Wilkins though, couldn't it?

The Herald Sun caption for the photo above is fantastic: "Soon after the Cruises arrived, two black SUVs that had followed from Essendon arrived and Crown staff started to unpack. There were fluffy toys, including an elephant." STOP PRESS - THERE WAS AN ELEPHANT AMONGST THE TOYS.

And again, with this shot the caption reads "Here a doll is unpacked and taken inside."

This picture actually pleases me, as I like to imagine that 90 per cent of this crap belongs to Suri.

Thankfully, they save the best picture for last:

The pink really brings out his blotches, doesn't it?

Not only does The Herald Sun have this heart-stopper of a picture gallery, they also have this wonderful tailor made Google Map, which tracks sightings of the couple in Melbourne. Readers are encouraged to tip off the online editors if they spot TomKat around the city. The result is a strange sort of Hollywood weather map, which makes it look like there is a strong TomKat front blowing in from the south east.

Please also note that they somehow wound up in Docklands. Beginners error.

The only thing I really learned from this map is apparently there's a suburb named Travancore. Who knew?
