Trends in heels extend far beyond the colour and materials used, to the shape of the heel and also the toe. The toe area of a shoe can vary widely but there are generally a few shapes.
The
peeptoe shape can vary in width greatly but in my humble opinion, a small peep in the toe is the only way to go!

The
pointy toe needs to keep in proportion with the rest of the heel, don't let it get too long! The pointy toe was brought out in force in the late 90's and early 00's but has seen a resurgence recently combined with the stiletto heel. After a few long years of round toes and chunkier heels, the pointy toed stiletto is back in the game.

The
almond toe is probably my favourite, gorgeous all year round, suits all outfits and transcends any trend. It's the classic shape whether paired with a stiletto or chunky heel.

The
round toe has been been back 'in' for a while but it's power as a shoe trend is diminished by its 'schoolgirl' like allure. A higher heel can bring a little more sexiness, but the rounder the toe, the more high school you go.

The
square toe, my least favourite can work in high fashion outfits on tall women, but overall it's masculine features rate poorly for me. An edgier look for those who don't do pretty?
