Shu Uemura at your service
Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Today marks the return to Australia for coveted cosmetics and beauty accessories company Shu Uemura. Although previously stocked at Mecca Cosmetica, albeit in limited supply, Shu Uemura has for some time only been available online.
The brand, first conceived by make-up artist Mr. Shu Uemura, has spanned more than 40 years, releasing such lust-have products as the eyelash curler and cleansing oil. “Renowned as a true pioneer, Shu Uemura was the first to merge makeup and art.” That combination is still the foundation on which the company’s products and philosophies are developed today. Hence why collaborations with the likes of Victor and Rolf are an integral part of keeping the brand at the forefront of invention.
Shu Uemura, now available at David Jones, will be offering in addition to make-up and skincare the luxury of sidling up to one of their “Tokyo Lash Bars”. How very exciting, I must say. As a longtime fan, the very thought of all those lovely colours, textures and tools are enough to give me heart palpitations.

Best of beauty
I’ve been a make-up artist for the better part of a decade now: working in the fashion industry, on television commercials, music video clips and as a beauty advisor.
I'll be taking this opportunity to comment on beauty in a conventional sense but also discuss how it can be found in the everyday and the seemingly mudane.
