The skillful teams behind Zac Posen and Marc Jacobs have once again unveiled hair and make-up looks that every girl will want to replicate.

At Zac Posen, Stephane Marais and Odile Gilbert presented their signature look (theatrical yet entirely wearable) with Marais showcasing eyes on which he’d smudged black ink and painted, free-hand and in swift strokes, flicks of liquid liner. He then created cold-looking lips that were virtually colourless bar a light stain daubed the centre.

Odile Gilbert, the hairstylist responsible for Marie Antoinette’s pastel powdered loveliness in Sophia Copolla’s film of the same name sent girls out with healthy, glossy hair, parted in the centre and full of bounce. But rather than create big, voluminous curls, Gilbert prepared the hair in such a way as to encourage the bends and waves to drop out just prior to show time.

At Marc Jacobs, Françoise Nars and Guido were on hand to create a rather rebellious, altogether relaxed, fuss-free look inspired by ‘proper’ girls who like to forgo their grooming in favour of smudged mascara and slept-on hair.
On the upper lids only Nars painted a limited amount of liner (just enough to define them) before clumping lashes together with mascara, leaving smudges and mishaps intact for effect. Lips and cheeks were then treated to a sheer wash of pale pink in order to complement and balance the darker eye.

Guido, much like Gilbert at Zac Posen parted the hair in the centre and prepped it with the intention of any set wave dropping out to nearly nothing. He then teased and rubbed the crown of the head to encourage static and fly-aways before finishing with low-sheen setting spray.
