Aaron De Mey has let slip that cosmetics company Lancôme, for which he is Artistic Director, may well be developing a range with fashion designer L’wren Scott. Scott, a former stylist come designer, often seen on the arm of boyfriend Mick Jagger, is a favourite of Nicole Kidman and Kelly Osbourne, among others. Her designs marry red carpet glamour with cocktail chic, sending her clients out into the night swathed in sequins and snug-fitting tuxedo jackets. Given De Mey directed the make-up look her recent spring 2010 collection, little wonder the two are looking to take the collaboration one step further. Details are scarce, though one would assume the range will make a striking statement.

Cashing in on their revitalised reputation and must-have status, Balenciaga is bringing back the Balenciaga Paris fragrance. Long-time spokesperson and muse Charlotte Gainsbourg will be on hand to help spritz and spruik the renewed scent, due for release in February 2010, as is Spain, reportedly – an obvious nod to the House’s country of origin. Despite being dominated by cyprus, violet leaves, cedar and patchouli notes, the fragrance, according to designer Nicolas Ghesquiere is “not a romantic floral”. Instead this perfume promises to be a fresher, more modern interpretation of the original. Available in 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum with matching body products.
