Yeondoo Jung Makes PostMod Kid Fantasies

Sunday, May 25, 2008
In a world where we cute-ify kids; second guess kids; exploit kids; dictate to kids; make rules for kids - Korean artist Yeondoo Jung enacted an amazing project of taking kids' drawings and making them "real".  Interpretting the scratchy, scribbled, primary coloured  worlds and (in the most beautiful, uncynical post-modern way) recreating them.

This is heart lifting stuff... and a nice flip-side to the current Bill Henson debate.
