Hi blog-landers! The other day I was up in Port Hedland for two skatepark openings. It was an awesome time, myself and my Hurley/4 skateboards sidekick Yuta Tanaka met the locals, did talks at schools, did some demos at the parks, did some op-shopping and even swam in the hottest ocean I have ever touched. I want to say hi to all the Port-rulers we met up there. The parks were incredible, they were made by the infamous Convic’ crew and they were worth at least half a mill each. Who would have ever thought that a hot-ass town, home of the world’s longest ever train (4km), and epicentre of the WA mining boom would have two of the state’s best facilities? The parks were initiated by BHP and Port Hedland Sport and Rec, how do you feel about mining companies being involved with skating on this level?
