When I first started working as the editor of Australian Skateboarding Magazine back in 2000 it was a confusing situation for myself, the art director for Waves, and the secretary. You see, the art director of Waves (who sat opposite me) was called Campbell Milligan and my name bared a resemblance: Morgan Campbell. Day in day out we would get sent the wrong emails, receive the wrong phone calls, cop each others faxes (yes it was a long time ago) and get handed the wrong letters. Ed Templeton even got us confused once. I emailed him about something, and he replied saying that he was looking forward to having his show at my gallery! WTF? I don't have a gallery. I let him know that he was talking about the wrong M-related Campbell. Campbell and I became really good friends, and in the end were swapping mix-tapes and the like. The company that ran both Waves and Australian Skateboarding was called EMAP and the backdrop they provided was not the best setting to live the working hours of your life. Many people ended up splitting to pursue their own passions. Campbell split around the same time as me in late 2001 / early 2002. He formed a magazine with his buddy Hollywood which you should know well. It is called Monster Children. It contains amazing photography and art, some of it from the creative’s involved with skating and surfing. Tomorrow night the Monster Children massif will be celebrating the launch of their photo issue in Sydney. Scroll down for the deets.

Hey, Campbell if you are reading this here is one for you, I know you love Gonz! Who doesn’t?
