Kino International Rocks the House

Wednesday, July 02, 2008
Have you ever heard of the “Kino International”? Excuse my ignorance, but I hadn’t until last week. On one of my last days in East Berlin I decided to skate down Karl-Marx-Allee which is a stretch of 1950s buildings devote to a style known as Socialist Classicism. It is a seriously surreal street. Just before I got to the sky tower I peeped some girls shooting a photo of this building that I had almost overlooked. It was the “Kino International”. I loved it to the point where I waited for them to leave and then bit their camera angle. I know: Lame-O, but when I see a building that resembles a 1950’s car stereo, I get a little excited.
