Not enough Oren
Tuesday, July 15, 2008
I know I'm not alone (gaggle of pretty fags get behind me) when I say there was not enough Oren in Project Runway last night.
His swimsuit "beach to bar" entry was so classic, that he was brushed aside and we had to spend extra time looking over Helen Manuell's "lazy" (the judges said that) granny knickers and bandeau ensemble. Dull. Waste. Of. My. Time.
I needed more time to look at Oren's belted satin kaftan mini thingy and swimsuit to truly judge whether it's something I would wear whilst dangling my feet in the sea sipping a mai tai whilst watching buff things parade about the sand.
Oren loves a classic, tailored outfit with a twist, and so do I. Almost as much as I like looking at Oren. Oooh, creepy, aren't I? It comes from a good place, I assure you.
From what I could see, he worked black, white and grey into a classic one-piece with a neat mini wrap over the top - something I'd expect to buy from AG if Arthur Galan ever moves into swimwear. The white strip up the centre, graduating to the darker shades at the outside, would have a wonderful slimming effect on, I am sure. Water and white fabirc at the punani zone is a recipe for danger, though I'm sure he would have double-lined that bit.
Without a good look at the piece the highlight of the show was two -not one, but two - dancing scenes starring Oren and cute-as-a-button challenge winner Mark. Well done Mark, your piece was absolutely classic and instantly wearable.
