The curtains have closed, the photographers are back in the office airbrushing, and the model are in pajamas with bare faces. Another Fashion Week has come to a close but not without a final hurrah on The Vine. Gold Coast Fashion Week was a local event open to the media and public with designers from the Gold Coast and surrounds. The event gave new and local designers a chance to showcase what they can do without pressure or major financial layouts. Think of it as a practice run for RAFW. The talent that the show drew was priceless. Local designer Begitta Stolk's collection was something out of a Disney Movie, with draping fabrics, beaded crowns, models blowing kisses and prom night fun, the Doll House range was certaintly memorable and inspiring. Exceptional collections also from swimwear label India & Harlow, think luxury fabrics in great cuts for the perfect summer bikini. You'll be proud to flaunt your body in one of these bikini's. Designer Kirsten Mitchell says the collection is all about feeling gorgeous and luxurious. Gold Coast Fashion Week's models sported Gold Coast brown bodies, lush beach curls and sunkissed faces, it made the event feel oh so Gold Coast and fashionable. The week had 6 events of 5 days and everyone proved to be a success. Being only the 2nd GCFW, there is so much more to come. Gold Coast is putting itself on the map in the fashion world, look out Milan!
