American animator Gabe Askew is evidently a fan of Grizzly Bear. He's also a fan of putting together mindblowing visuals made with nothing but love for his craft.

Despite Grizzly Bear already releasing a pretty cool video for Veckatimest highlight 'Two Weeks', Askew took it upon himself to nut out this gorgeous clip simply for the love of it. His efforts eventually reached the band's gaze, with singer Ed Droste going to far as to talk it up on his Twitter.

It's almost a shame this is an unoffical clip. Surely Askew could've shopped it round to any number of bands and collected a handsome pay packet. But the way it combines with the song is superb; a better pairing we couldn't think of.

As Askew writes in the comments section of the video, posted two months ago: "I think in this day and age fan videos are blurring the line between paid and non-paid work. I've been inspired by guys like Aubo Lessi (parkink.net) who do amazing work only because they love to do it."

It shows. Without wanting to spoil the clip before viewing, read down through the comments for how he achieved this little masterpiece. (We recommend watching it in full screen).

It reminds us of some of the other fan made videos that we posted last year. None of which topped this great grafting of Arcade Fire's 'My Body Is A Cage' onto Sergio Leone’s spaghetti-western classic "Once Upon A Time In The West":

Arcade Fire - 'My Body Is A Cage'

And just to kick the highbrow tone up a few IQ notches, (and because it's Friday) please accept this fan made video for who knows what but holy shit this guy is amazing in several technicolour dialects. Look out for the insane bass run at 1:13 followed by a bizarre edit at 1:20. Then someone tells me what happens after the two minute mark because I had to go have a lie down.
