Every time I see you falling, I get down on my knees and pray.  Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin - this is one bizarre love triangle I would kill to join in what is the most amazing assemblage of talent.  Am I the only gen Y citizen who feels this way?  Will I wake up with a Woman's Day subscription and menopause tomorrow?

Irrespective of my borderline obsessive (actually obsessive obsessive) Meryl Streep infatuation, Nancy Meyers' new film It's Complicated (2009) trailer has just been released and I am salivating thinking about it.

It's Complicated traces divorcee Jane (Meryl Streep) whose twenty year marriage ends when her husband Jake (Alec Baldwin) cheats on, then marries the incredibly younger other woman in your typical cradle snatcher seeks validation at the onset of a post midlife crisis.  Jane enjoying the uninhibitedness of being single then falls for her Architect Adam (Steve Martin), however when Jake's marriage begins to dissipate he starts having an affair with Jane, who unwillingly becomes embroiled in a love triangle which as the title suggests becomes a little complicated.

It sounds like a storyline stringed across a years worth of episodes in Days of Our Lives, but with the genius and class of Nancy Meyers, the writer of Something's Gotta Give (2003), Private Benjamin (1980) and Parent Trap (1998) she succeeds in creating a hilarious love affair with an enormous amount of panache.

The Australian release of It's Complicated is 1 January 2010.
