David Gordon Green's latest project, Your Highness is a medieval fantasy comedy exploring two princes, who despite their mismatched personas must come together and successfully complete a quest in order to save their father's kingdom.
The screenplay was a collaboration between very funny men Danny McBride (Pineapple Express) and Ben Best, having both previously joined brains to create the hilarious Television series, Eastbound and Down (I implore you to watch it).
The film currently in the early days of production, but has enlisted stars Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman and James Franco in an amazing ensemblage of good looks. Also an opportunity for Deschanel to seek redemption after her abysmal performance in (500) Days of Summer aka 2 hours of watching noses touch.
The first still from the film have just been released featuring Natalie Portman. I wait with baited breath the debut of the film's trailer.
It sounds like Monty Python meets Shrek meets that age old fable The Prodigal Son, despite this potential fiesta del failure I still can't help but be excited. Your Highness is expected to be released in October 2010.
