The rumour that Wolfmother's new bass player Ian Peres was accepted into the band based on a video of himself playing Guitar Hero is unfortunately false. But the popular Aussie band is treating Guitar Hero fans to a free gig in Sydney to promote Guitar Hero 5.
The gig at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park will see Wolfmother play tracks from their new album Cosmic Egg, due October 23. The concert will be filmed for television and fans should arrive from 5.30pm on October 2.
Wolfmother appears in Guitar Hero 5 alongside artists like Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Kings of Leon and Deep Purple.
Philip Earl, the Managing Director of Activision Blizzard Australia, says Guitar Hero has "a huge local following, so we wanted to include Wolfmother, one of Australia’s best home-grown rock acts into Guitar Hero 5. Wolfmother joins an impressive international line-up featured in the game, including over 85 artists such as Coldplay, Iggy Pop, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Iron Maiden. We are looking forward to seeing all the Guitar Hero fans down at Fox Studios to celebrate the launch of the game.”
Guitar Hero 5 is out now. Guitar Hero fans can also log onto guitarhero.com to download Wolfmother’s track Back Round for free.
