Kids these days are wayyy to cute/fashionable/Internet competent.
They're smart enough to know that even if
The Sartorialist or Yvan the
FaceHunter won't come to your town and take a picture of you, that you can just take one of yourself. Same, same but different, yeah?
No longer do they dream about going to Hogwarts, instead they dream about finding mad bargains at the 'thrift store' and then blogging about how they put together their latest looks.
Apparently, it's not enough just to have your friends at school witness your most hyped collection of threads so they post it on the World Wide Web. They're narcissitic and I secretly like that.
Tavi, aka
Style Rookie is the best. She's 12 (?) and she writes things like this, "In my opinion, the most interesting fashion is the Anti-Fashion. No rules, no restrictions, no normalcy, no pleasing anyone. I really aim to try to come up with some type of character behind what I wear, be it an 80's prom queen or disturbed man elf." (You should also read this blog,
Intellectuals Read Vogue, Too written by 17-year-old Hanna)
