Some things are so rare and exciting that they can only be described as awesome.
Eating the last marble in
Hungry, Hungry Hippos is one of those things.
Staying in a hotel for free is another.
Cue
Lost and Found -
"Part publication, part hotel room, part cultural therapist, part
gallery and part guide."
Basically, part best thing to ever happen to Melbourne.
Here's the deal: in conjunction with Tourism Victoria, Lost and Found will be leasing out a room in the Little Collins Hotel in Melbourne's CBD over the next three months.
They've re-fit the room to showcase some of Melbourne's super rad creative talent and now they're letting you apply to stay there for free.
All the products have been selected for their quality, but also because they help tell a story about Melbourne as a city of creative people, producing interesting things.
Objects ranging from
Aesop delights, to
furniture by Native and records by a bunch of Melbourne bands.
The Lost and Found hotel room even has its own dedicated concierge to help you make bookings and provide you with insider tips for exploring the city.
Want to be involved?
All you have to do is apply online and then cross those fingers like you've never crossed them before (I can barely type this, I'm crossing mine so hard!)
Located in the top corner of the Little Collins Hotel, 27 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000.
The Lost and Found Hotel Room is open from 1 June to 31 August 2010, the room itself is available for up to three nights on weekends (Friday to Sunday) and up to four nights during the week (Monday to Thursday) - you just
tell them when you want to stay!
