Well this was brave. Robyn has covered Björk's "Hyperballad" with Björk watching impassively from a heart-stopping few feet away. The Swedish king was also there but it's probably fair to assume that Robyn wasn't dwelling on him so much.

The event was Sweden's annual Polar Music Prize which was set up by ABBA's lyricist / manager / publisher / bored billionaire Stig Anderson to honour "individuals, groups and institutions in recognition of exceptional achievements." Italy's spaghetti western soundtrack god Ennio Morricone also scored a 1 million kronor prize (AU$151,470).

We may never know what Björk was really thinking but Robyn deserved to take home some kind of bravery award if nothing else. Luckily for us the event is televised live...

Here's Björk performing "Hyperballad" on Jools Holland in '96 in front of a man wielding brushes. Hardly a fair comparison but he does seem slightly unhinged towards the end...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs
doing "Hyperballad" at an in-store...
