Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are asking stars to stick around for an extra day after The Grammys to record a new version of 1985's "We Are The World" - aka ' Arguably The Best Charity Song And Video Ever Recorded' - to raise funds for Haiti.

This will hopefully make up for a Simon Cowell organized effort (reportedly a cover of REM's "Everybody Hurts") featuring Leona Lewis, Michael Buble and Rod Stewart. (I know, God help Haiti, but then help us, please.)

Fans of the original "We Are The World" by USA for Africa will be quick to point out that they can't possibly better the original without Cindi Lauper or Kenny Loggins, but the good news (depending on how they do it) is that Michael Jackson ("When you're down and out there seems no hope at all") will be incorporated... somehow. (Yo, Quincy! "Incorporate" the Pointer Sisters!)

Let us relive the magic, shall we?
