The UK's sharpest MC, Rodney Smith, aka
Roots Manuva, has had a well documented struggle with depression over the years, making each new release all the more welcome.
On his last album he even rapped that it could be his last.
Luckily he's back, even if it's meant relinquishing production duties to others this time, including electropop man of the moment
Metronomy for one track.
"Again & Again" is the second single and shows what a vital antidote to the posing and posturing he's been and, hopefully, will continue to be for a long time yet.
Arctic Monkeys are mad for Manuva, and drummer Matt Helders has contributed a
remix for the single.
Apparently the album reflects opposing sides of his personality - for
better or
worse.
