There have been some dark happenings in the world of pop over the last twenty-four hours, as if the pop gods have been angered somehow and it's reckoning time.
Perhaps it's a warning to humanity of what can happen when Brian McFadden is allowed to release "Chemical Rush", and then radio (in Australia at least) agrees to play it.
Firstly, a crew member at a Will Young gig at Rochester Castle in Kent fell to his death from the staging. The man, who was in his forties, was taken to a local hospital but died after arrival. The gig went ahead with a cordon around the scene.
Pink was carelessly catapulted into a barrier in Nürnburg, Germany, and will no doubt come back even stronger, more dangerous than before. The backup dancer is fine btw...
Take That have taken Robbie Williams back for a new album (but possibly not for good) after months of "will he, won't he, actually we don't care anymore, well I'm coming back anyway".
And this morning (Friday, UK time), in a sign that the pop universe may indeed be dying, Katie Price went on breakfast show GMTV to mime to her new single "for fun", and brazenly ignoring her mother's advice to always take one thing off before she leaves the house. "It's not like I'm worried about getting a chart position or number one, this is purely for fun. Whether people like it or not, I'm doing it," she told the hosts. Which is what Robbie might have said about Rudebox. Price can rest assured that people will like it, at least they will like this video, for the not-so-erotic male dancers mainly, and the styling on those dancers, and Price's "Something About Mary" do.
What will happen next in this real-life Final Destination scenario? Somewhere GaGa is being held in a bunker for her own protection while Brian McFadden is being readied as a sacrifice to appease the gods.
Everybody pray it isn't too late.
