It's easy to forget how massive Franz Ferdinand were, less than five years ago.

But now they're gearing up to return with a third album, only to find that times have changed. Music's changed. Pharrell's stock has even fallen. And where are The Hives?

There were rumours the band were working with Xenomania, then not, and then they told the BBC that the album would have lots of African influences.

Will they nail another 'moment'. Can lightning strike a third time for Franz Ferdinand?
