Without further ado, here's the second half of our binge on French future-funk genius Débruit (part one here). Highlights include impressive usage of the word "flux" in a second-language, a tip for the World Cup, and a bodily rejection of "French electro soup".

Meanwhile, for your aural pleasure, here's "Nigeria What?" from his synth-spanking new Spatio Temporel EP (out now from here).

Your tracks sound really intricate - how long do they take to finish?

I can be really hyperactive so it goes pretty fast to make 90% of it, but the last 10% is harder and the problem comes more from my mind. I suppose its because I can never truly say a track is fully finished, it can always be in flux for me. In my music nothing remains frozen, everything is in movement. You'll understand if you get to see me when I play live that I found the remedy for my problem as I can always continue to make changes and the movement and development always remains in my tracks.

Is being in London (where he moved a few months ago) influencing your music at all? If so how?

Yes, of course, everything influences my music. If I wake up and take coffee instead of cereal that will influence the music I'll do later so imagine what London is doing?!! I'm not really able to say what it does to me but I've already met a lot of really positive people doing good things, I see a lot of amazing gigs full of curious people, things and music and all that is surely influencing, motivating and pushing me forward!

Who are your favourite producers / artists right now?

I actually listen to a lot of old stuff nowadays but I like people like Dorian Concept, Fulgeance, Joker, Fatima, Sa-Ra, funkineven, Hudson Mohawke...

When will we get an album? Or are albums less relevant these days?

My album is planned for the end of next year! I love EP's too cause you have to put only good and strong tracks on an EP so it represents your music with an impact. Nowadays people download one track and lost the notion of album cause of the shuffle mode also. But my album is gonna be something to catch from beginning till even after it finishes! It should be a pretty nice journey full of surprises, I'll put the child lock security thing at the back so when I drive nobody jumps out of the car.

Where do you think dance music is headed in 2010? And what do you want to see happen?

I hope it's heading away from the French electro soup of Ed Banger and the like. I mean there has been some good stuff come out of that scene, like from Oizo and Feadz, but apart from that I'm more thinking of it moving away from there, cause a lot of the kids now only know this music and it makes the scene sad and predictable. So I hope dance music goes to something a little bit more elaborate with an element of surprise and more creativity in recycling whatever soulful means to people.

Any new year's resolutions?

Yes, wake up before the afternoon! Imagine, if I was sleeping most of 2009 what it's gonna be like in 2010!

Who do you tip for 2010?

Yoann Gourcuff at the World Cup.

A big 'merci' to the man himself for taking the time, and the benevolent overlords at Civil Music for making it happen. Here, have some extras...
